    I use to love Gus's but a lot had change under the new leadership. The cook is the same but he frequently holds long detailed conversation with customers, usually about football. It makes me sick. I think they are trying and I wish the best for them but I may not be going as often as before. There has also been a change in the special, it's more watery.

    Love this place and the guys that work there. They are always super nice. It's a busy and small place, but it doesn't take any longer than you should expect at any place in downtown Birmingham during the lunch rush in a business district. In my opinion, most people posting negative reviews either have unrealistic expectations or had the rarity of a bad experience and should definitely give this place a second chance. I am also posting pics of the menu and prices as of May 2019 for anyone who is interested.

    A historic Birmingham hot dog spot. Lee and LA go out of thier way to make sure you are well taken care of and leave happy and fed. If your a Birmingham native and you haven't had a Gus's hot dog, you should really be asking yourself "why?" If your visiting Birmingham, you should really make this place one of your planned stops.
